Computer Planet Experience

Postby scat5268 » 25 May 2010, 12:32

Ok, i have not had the greatest experience with computer planet. but before i make my final decision on this company. i would like to hear about your experiences with Computer Planet. let me know what rig you got, if your rig was built to specs, was it built on time, did you have any problems, everything. looking forward to reading these reviews. i do have several friends that are looking to buy a new rig soon and before i recommend anyone i want to make sure mine is or is not an isolated incident

Thanks,

Scat

I am very happy. I've bought two computers and had no problems.

I have ordered my computer on the 1st of July 2010. The customer service through e-mail was fast. So far i would say i am having a positive experience, but one thing i am not sure about is the delivery time. Seems like it will be longer than expected. Other minor thing i noticed is that i am not getting the regular updates on my order which is weird, but Tom from the sales team always responded quickly to my e-mails(though i still dont know what is actually happening to my PC - all i see is "Sales Order", 11 days now).

I hope i get my computer within a few days, cause i dont have any at the moment (my laptop's GPU was damaged cause of overheating :S - the unlucky Geforce 8400 series).

If the computer will be delivered without any problems, i can say i had a good experience.
Lets hope :)

I have received an update:

My parts have been picked, computer assembled and now in testing stage 1. My motherboard and PSU were also upgraded, which is good news.

Now i at least have some idea where my PC is at :)

Gigabyte motherboard with AMD 770 chipset DDR3 1666 (OC)
Phenom II x965
XFX Radeon HD 5830 1GB
4GB 1600 Mhz RAM - Corsair
OCZ 600W PSU
X-Blade case

and also a few accessories like monitor, keyboard and mouse, headset.
So far the CP team was kind, and responded quickly to my e-mails, so i have a good feeling about this :)
Delivery should be any day now.
I will be waiting for it like a loyal dog is waiting for it's master :)

Hi Scat5268
I've had a similarly experience. My order ran over the 9 days build time so I contacted CP to be told that an item is out of stock. I would have liked to have been informed and not had to chase it, like you my order status wasn’t updated. Other than that I like the site and the company, the testing seems comprehensive and the prices are good.
I would order from this company again.

Rig I ordered is:
Intel Core i7 930 (4 x 2.8GHz) 8 MB 4.8GT/s
Fractal Design Define R2 (Black)
ATI Radeon HD 5970 Black Edition - 2 GB - 2xDVI/DP (XFX) (Includes Free Dirt2)
Corsair Hydro Series H50 V2 (Advanced Liquid Cooling) - BEST SELLER
Asus P6T SE (Intel X58)
Corsair 6GB (3x2GB) XMS3 1600MHz - Lifetime Warranty (DDR3)
1 TB (1000 GB) SATA-II HDD UDMA 300 7200 32MB
OCZ 700W Stealth XStream - Low Noise

This is something we are always working on improving and always do. We now have the 60 minute response time to emails during office hours.

Computer is ready and on the way. Now i just have to hope UPS wont mess things up. According to the UPS e-mail i should have it here tomorrow (northern ireland). But the status didn't change in 2 days, it is still in TAMWORTH, GB since saturday (now is monday). So it is still on the mainland, I hope they can fly my PC over here by tomorrow, because i took a day off work just to be here when it arrives.

Will post the results here.
