How to Upgrade

Postby richardwingett » 05 Sep 2011, 12:58

Dear Computerplanet

I bought a system from yourselves a couple of years ago and it is excellent. My major use is for HD video editing and of course, as HD editing grows, so do the demands placed upon the system

Please see my system details below.

I have upgraded the 4GB of memory to 8 which I think is the maximum for the system. My questions is, should I upgrade theASUS 1GB RADEON HD 3850 X2 PCI-E 2.0 to something more up to date with more on board memory or what would you advise to upgrade to increase work flow speed.

Regards
Richard Wingett

Replacing the VGA card will make things quicker in video editing. You may also want to consider changing to Windows 7 which will speed things up a little.

Steve

Thank you. When you say the VGA card do you mean the graphics cards. If so, based on my system, what would you recommend and should I keep to the two cards to keep it as a Crossfire system.

Do you sell the graphics cards ceperately and if so at what prices.

Thanks
Richard

We don't sell them sorry but yes VGA / graphics card and I would suggest going for one new card like an NVIDIA GTX 550 or ATI HD 6770 1 GB.
