Computer won't start

Postby Mower » 14 Jan 2012, 18:23

Having spent over £3500 on a computer I expected it to start when I turned it on, I was under the impression the computers are checked vigorously before being sent out!??

When I start the computer i get the following messages in between the motherboard name screen:

'no drives detected'

'no physical drives!'

followed by a black screen with a flashing cursor which it stays on until i turn the computer off.

Also there is a red sata cable inside the computer not plugged in...should this of been plugged in?

All in all I am very very annoyed about this as I expected better service. Hopefully it gets sorted out though

Hiya

Might sound daft but.... Have you followed the sata lead back at all?

if it connects to a HDD then its a simple job to plug it into one of the sata slots on your MB, this should resolve all your problems, it may be that the cable came lose during transit :)

have you also inserted the graphics card, again these are almost always left out of the case due to the weight and (relative) fagility - a big graphics card is not designed to be left inside the case during transit (blame those pesky delivery vans and the rough roads they have to drive down)

again a simple task to put it into the appropriate slot - there should be a simple diagram of what to do included in the delivery box
