Fan and BSOD

Postby Snappera » 22 Nov 2011, 17:52

My order number is 'Order #159937' my computer is just over a month old now.

It's two things really, since about 2 weeks after I received my new computer I noticed that the fan had just suddenly became very loud on start-up when the computer is cold, it's continued like this to the present day. The difference being from a normal buzzing/humming as it was before on start-up to some grinding noise, which doesn't sound all too healthy.

The other problem is that I've had 2 blue screens of death occur in the past month. Both happen without any load on the computer from games ect. The most recent one (Today) occurred on start-up also.

Judging from the location of the sound, I think it's coming from my CPU fan. I suppose these two things may come hand in hand? I'm unsure.

Thanks.

Please can you contact tech support via www.computerplanet.co.uk/support/helpdesk/ they can arrange to do a remote desktop session to look at the blue screen logs and resolve the problem for you.

The fan noise are you able to take the side off and pin point which fan is causing the noise?

Yep just did that (thanks for the speedy response!).

I pressed down on the back of the small fan at the rear of my computer and the noise stopped. So it's fortunately not the CPU fan. It's that one.
