Seeing how the pc build is progressing

Postby hplis » 18 Feb 2011, 14:04

Hi everyone. I am eagerly awaiting my pc which is currently being built by the computer planet team. My thought is this. Wouldn't it be cool to be able to see the progress of my pc as it is built. For example still pictures or short video. It may not be practical or too time consuming. It is just a thought. But I would be encouraged to buy if I could see pc's as they are being built. (I am buying by the way lol).:)

A few years back we did go through a stage of taking a finished photo but with the volume we process it was taking up a lot of time. Maybe some production web cams would be the next best thing.

Yer. why not (Voted yes - for stiils I mean, or it gets into the realm CCTV, and most people have had enough of that). Just as long as everone isn't always posing for the camera - just joking.
Can't imagine that individual builds could be catered for, but a general view might be interesting. But, maybe...

What about customers having personal 'Sales/Build Reps' who are assigned to customers to monitor the process from pick to dispatch through the build. Customers get to see their rep's photo in the e-mails business card option - and get that real personal touch. Most of this stuff is automated, most of the time things go as planned (auto email) but when there's problem everyone gets a heads-up note.
This is not really crazy - this has been done successfully before.
Whatever: Problems are the way of the world and inevitable. The closer your customers feel to your company, and you to them, it'll work both ways to bring good resolution.
Generally I'm okay with e-sales & marketing, but when I'm spending more than a thousand pounds, I wouldn't mind a little stroking.
